Mattel is ready to flex minds this Christmas with its new mind reading game, Mindflex. Already introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, show-goers at the New York Toy Fair were able to see this toy in action.
Players wear a headset that apparently reads their mind in order to control a stream of air that makes a ball float in the air. Using a dial the player makes the floating ball move round an obstacle course.
The obstacle course can be customised and the game’s electronics times a players progress and referees various modes of play.
It’s worth noting that this new and exciting game bears a rather striking resemblance to the Harry Potter Levitating Challenge Game, that was first sold by Mattel in 2001. A fondly remembered toy that offered all bar the mind reading illusion of Mind flex, a version lies in storage at The Toy Detective Agency.

Mindflex is expected to go on sale this autumn for a price of $80.00 (US).
