USA Toy Recall: Refreshing Rings Infant Teethers/Rattles by Sassy

Sassy Inc. have announced a voluntary recall of its Recalls Refreshing Rings Infant Teethers/Rattles due to an ingestion hazard. Small pieces of the plastic ball can detach as a result of children chewing on the teether/rattle.

There has been one report of pieces of  black plastic from the polka dot ball detaching while being chewed. No injuries have been reported.

Recalled Sassy Teether Rattle Toys

The baby toys were made in China and around 37,000 items are affected. This recall, which involves Refreshing Rings infant teethers/rattles intended for babies of ages three months and older. The product has a red, water-filled ring on one end and a black and white polka dot ball on the other end. The two ends of the rattles/teethers are connected by a black and white, flexible plastic rod with three floating rings. Style number 80026 is printed on the packaging

Refreshing Rings Infant Teethers/Rattles were sold at a number of mass merchandise and baby specialty stores in the USA between July 2009 and January 2011 for about $5

The affected teethers/rattles should be taken away from from children immediately. Sassy Inc. should be contacted for instructions on how to return the product for a free replacement toy.
