Toyology has announced the launch of the very first Outdoor Toy Awards. The inaugural event will be judged a panel of 30 children, the true experts on toys.
They will be testing products from a range of categories and measuring the fun using Toyology’s very own Fun-ometer. Assistance will also be provided by parents and teachers and members.
Outdoor toys provide a great way for children to enjoy playing in the open-air and getting that all important fresh air and exercise. So, it’s pleasing to see toys designed for outdoor use being singled-out for recognition; especially as they encourage the lamented kind of ”rough and tumble” play, that many children seem to lack in their daily lives.
There are six categories of awards:
- Flying Toys
- Get Active
- Blasters
- Construct and Craft
- Team/Family Play
- Ride-on
Judging day will be filmed and highlights will be broadcast online on the 23rd April, with the winners announced at the end of the video. Newspapers and broadcasters will also be covering the event.
The Toyology Outdoor Toy Awards is now open for entries. The closing date for submissions is 22nd March. Judging takes place in London on April 20th.
