Toys R Us Pops-Up in Whiteley’s Shopping Centre in Bayswater
Toys R Us has opened a new store in Bayswater, London. Situated in the Whiteley’s shopping centre, this temporary branch of the world famous toy store chain, represents a departure from the company’s usual choice of out of town retail parks as locations to set-up shop.
Although the pop-up shop occupies some 10,000 square feet, it is much smaller than permanent Toys R Us stores. In order to display as much of the store’s core offering as possible, a number of departments have been dispensed with; gone are the video games, Babies R Us, bicycles and outdoor toy sections.
You’ll find little retail theatre here, there are no toys being demonstrated nor displayed in showcases; even the children’s tablet computers on display are merely non-working plastic replicas. Instead, it’s simply the serious business of cramming as many popular toys in the shop’s pop-up floorspace.
There are comprehensive ranges of LEGO, Playmobil, Moshi Monsters, board games, puzzles. There are good selections of many other toys, including: Ben 10, Monster High, Hot Wheel, Air Hogs, Baby Annabell and many more. Educational and traditional toys are also featured in store, Toys R Us stock their own range of wooden toys, some Melissa & Doug products, books, their own science brand which includes telescopes and microscopes. Toys for babies and toddlers, remote control cars, art, role-play toys and almost everything regular shoppers would expect from the toy ailes of this children’s supermarket is represented in-store.
If what you want is not in stock at the Bayswater branch, then a computer terminal that will allow you to make online orders is available for customer use. The store’s opening hours are, currently, 9 am to 8 pm Monday to Saturday and 12 noon to 6 pm on Sundays.
