Cun Zi Yi - Chongqing, ChinaThe simplest of possessions are rarely as cherished as they are during childhood. Like many, it was a selection of toys that were my favourite things; with fond memories of Lego and soft toys.

Photographer Gabriele Galimberti travelled the world taking pictures of children with their favourite objects on display in her 18 month-long project.

Unsurprisingly, toys are abound in the collection of photographs, however, one child favours his collection of musical instruments, while another smiles broadly from behind a pair of brightly coloured sunglasses; just one of her collection of dozens. Some children have just one toy to be photographed with, while another retreats to a corner of the room so that an immense collection of playthings can be captured by the camera lens.
