The product poses a serious choking hazard to young children, as the wooden dowels used in the toy can be installed at an angle, allowing the metal rattle inside to become exposed. P. Graham Dunn is aware of four incidents of the metal rattle becoming exposed. No injuries have been reported.

The affected product in this recall involves a wooden toy rattle with light brown stain, eight wooden dowels and a gold-colored metal rattle inside. The toy rattle is circular in shape, measuring 2 3/4 inches by 2 inches.

The affected product was sold in gift stores and book retailers nationwide from June 2010 through July 2010 for about $6.

The plastic Sonya Lee figure in the play set can break at the waist, exposing small parts that pose a choking hazard to young children. Fisher-Price has received eight reports of this figurine breaking, however, no injuries have been reported.

About 96,000 Little People Play ‘n Go Campsite play sets have been sold in the United States and around 14,000 were sold in Canada. This product, made in China, has been sold in many major retailers including mass merchandisers, discount stores, department stores, online retailers and toy stores nationwide and in Puerto Rico – from October 2009 through August 2010 for about $15.

The affected seven-piece plastic play set includes Sonya Lee, a tent and other accessories. It can be identified by its product number R6935, printed on the toy’s packaging. The name Sonya Lee is printed on the underside of the figure. Only Sonya Lee figures that bend at the waist, have a green sweater and purple camera around the neck are included in this recall. No other kind of Sonya Lee figurine is affected. The remaining pieces of the Little People Play ‘n Go Campsite are not affected.

Consumers should immediately take the Campsite’s Sonya Lee figure away from children and contact Fisher-Price to arrange for the figure’s return in exchange for a free replacement figure. An urgent safety notice has been issued as there is a potential safety hazard with This Little Baby board books that are in Bookstart Baby packs.

Parents have been advised to check that there is no plastic film on the mirror at the back of the book. If there is a plastic film on the mirror, it must be removed it before the book is placed in the hands children.

The publishers of Dr Who Adventures Magazine have issued a safety notice regarding the projector torch included with issue 172 (with Rory on the cover).

It has been discovered that some of the projector torches do not work properly and get too hot when they’re used. If you have the projector torch, an adult should take the batteries out immediately and the torch should not be used again.

The affected books were sold at a variety of retailers, with the list price being £9.99 and its ISBN and barcode number being: 9780746087930.

This recalled book should be immediately taken away from children and HarperCollins Distributors should be contacted for instructions on returning the book and being supplied with the new edition.

Jo-Ann Stores denies the CPSC’s allegations that it violated federal law, howeber, settlement resolves allegations by the CPSC that the company knowingly imported and sold Robbie Ducky™ children’s products that contained lead paint in excess of the federal government’s regulatory limit from January through November 2007.

At the time of the alleged violations, the federal limit on lead in paint was 600 ppm (0.06 percent). In August 2009 the regulatory limit on lead in paint and surface coatings was reduced from 600 ppm (0.06 percent) to 90 ppm (.009 percent).

The following Robbie Ducky™ children’s products allegedly violated the federal lead paint ban and were later recalled by Jo-Ann Stores:

• Robbie Ducky™ children’s watering cans – 6,000 recalled on August 28, 2007
• Robbie Ducky™ children’s toy rakes – 16,000 recalled on September 26, 2007
• Robbie Ducky™ children’s toy rakes – An additional 97,000 toy rakes were recalled on October 25, 2007
• Robbie Ducky™ holiday water globes – 60 recalled on December 13, 2007

The CPSC alleged that Schylling imported up to 66,000 units of non-compliant spinning top toys with Thomas and Friends, Curious George and Circus graphics between June 2001 and June 2002 for distribution to retailers and finally consumers. They also alleged that the company imported as many as 10,200 units of non-compliant tin pail toys with Thomas and Friends, Curious George and primary colour graphics from late January 2002 through March 2002 and that Schylling imported as many as 3,600 units of non-compliant Winnie-the-Pooh style spinning top toys between April and May 2003.

In agreeing to pay the civil penalty, Schylling denies the CPSC’s allegations that the company violated federal law.

About 600,000 units in the United States and 200,000 in Canada of these products, made in China, are affected; due the possibility that the wind chime toy can be pulled apart exposing sharp metal rods, posing puncture and laceration hazards to the baby. The firm has received five reports of babies pulling apart the wind chimes exposing the sharp metal rods, including a report of a minor injury to a 24-month-old baby who punctured his cheek with the rods.

This recall involves wind chime toys sold separately, with the Gymini Kick & Play Activity Gym and Tiny Smarts Gift Sets. The toy produces the sound of a wind chime. “Tiny Love” is printed on a tag on the toy. The following names and item numbers are included in this recall:

This recall involves three types of pull-toys: Pull-A-Long Friends Toucan™ with lot code 210720GB, Pull-A-Long Friends Alligator™ with lot code 210750GB, and Pull-A-Long Friends Sharky™ with lot code 210530GB. The Toucan has a large yellow and black beak and blue striped wings. The crocodile is green and has a red ridge on its back and red wheels with yellow polka dots. The shark has blue swirls painted on its wheels and an orange wooden fish on the pull string. The lot code is printed on the bottom of the toy.

The products have been sold at gift and specialty stores throughout the United States and Canada, online and through catalogs from September 2009 through January 2010 for about $22.

Consumers should take the toys away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or a replacement toy.

About 360,000 units of the product, made in China, are affected due to a defect in the lamp’s printed circuit board that can cause an electrical short, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

Innovage has received nine reports of incidents, including seven reports of lamps catching fire, one involving smoke inhalation injury to a child and three involving minor property damage.

The affected product is Discovery Kids™ Animated Marine Lamp with model number 1627121 or 1628626 and the Animated Safari Lamp with model number 1627124 or 1628626. All models have batch numbers beginning with “2”. The decorative lamps are silver in color and feature rotating films with marine or safari scenes. “Discovery Kids” is printed on the front top left corner. The batch number is an 11 digit number located on the bottom of each unit. The model number can be found on the bottom of the packaging.

Sold at Mass merchandisers, department, drug and hardware stores nationwide, online and through direct sales from July 2009 through January 2010 for about $10.
