Barbie Gets Ready For Big Screen Debut

Mattel, makers of Barbie dolls, have announced that they are planning a cinema release movie starring the world’s most famous doll.

There’s all ready been a number of small screen computer-animated movies on, video and DVD, featuring Barbie; including the Nutcracker, Rapunzel and most recently Mariposa.

Richard Dickson, Mattel’s Senior Vice President, said that Mattel was evolving into a media company and that “theatrical releases are certainly part of our strategic agenda.”

Mattel is looking for a production company to produce the movie and even a future television show is a possibility.
