Smyths has closed down its toy superstore in Chadwell Heath, Essex. The store opened during in July 2007 and was the first the Galway based company had opened outside of Ireland. The store’s last day of trading was 31st December 2014.
In a response to a customer’s question on the company’s Facebook page, Smyths stated: “There is a major redevelopment taking place at this location and, unfortunately, we had to make the tough decision to exit this premises. Apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.”
This is not the first Smyths store in Britain to close-down; its branches in Mitcham and Borehamwood were vacated in previous years.
