A court filing named 182 stores that the company proposed for closure in its current attempt to save the retailer from bankruptcy. 94 of the locations listed were dedicated Babies R Us stores. Where possible the company wants closing down Babies R Us stores to share space with a nearby Toys R Us store.
Closing down sales are due to begin on 7 February (2018) and are expected to end by 15 April (2018). As Toys R Us tries to return to profitability
Further closures in the future cannot be ruled out as the company deals with a heavy debt burden and an unprofitable business that is suffering from declining sales.
