Toys R Us is getting ready to launch its first shop-in-shop within WH Smith's Monks Cross Retail Park store in York.
The opening will take place on Saturday 10 June, with a grand opening event for customers.
This will be the first new Toys R Us location to open in Britain since the company went out of business during 2018.
Eight more Toys R Us shop-in-shops will be opening during summer, these will be in the following WH Smith locations:
- Canterbury (St George Street)
- Chelmsford (High Street)
- Cheltenham (High Street)
- Cwmbran (The Mall)
- Oxford (Cornmarket Street)
- Poole (Towngate Shopping Centre)
- Reading (Broad Street)
- Solihull (Mell Square)
These stores will feature a life-size Geoffrey the Giraffe 3D sculpture perfect for a family photo opportunity,interactive experiences, demonstration tables and what Toys R Us describe as iconic visual elements throughout.
Each shop-in-shop will feature a key range of products and activities from top toy brands including Barbie, Bluey, Fisher Price, Hot Wheels, LEGO, Marvel, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Playmobil, Star Wars and more.
While the brand has been missing from retail parks and high streets in Britain for five years, Toys R Us has been trading from over 1,350 stores globally.
Last year the toy retailer relaunched its UK website: www.toysrus.co.uk.
Together with e-commerce websites the brand's new owner, WHP Global, generates more than USD $2 billion from 31 countries.
