At a mighty $21.5 billion, the U.S. toy market is greater than the nation’s music and movie industries combined. While America gives birth to 4% of the world’s children, it buys 40% of the world’s toys.
During the recession’s peak (2009-10), money on food was cut-back seeing a 0.5% drop in spending in U.S. supermarkets. Yet at that time, sales of toys grew by 2%.
